Dzuz fairng screw

Postby scout18 » Sat May 31, 2008 10:42 pm

I found the fairing screws at the local IKEA store. They gave me two, no charge. Their part number is 100610. I hope this helps somebody. don't forget to watch Rossi stomp Stoner tomorrow at Mugello.posting.php?mode=post&f=19&sid=58b9755fbd23e92cd49421ad45e133f4#

Could you please find out if Ikea has the screw that goes under the seat? It's been years that I've been riding my 2001 Baghira without one
Thanks, Ed

scout18,
Ed like myself has the MZ Baghira and we're interested in the fastener under the seat as well as the radiator shroud fasteners. My 01 Baghira uses a threaded hex with a shoulder for under the seat (Have several seats and haven't checked the others).
Will be going to IKEA to find out at the end of this next week to understand what's available.
If your talking a Scorpians fairings then I'd figure that the fasteners are allot shorter than the Baghiras radiator shouds that attach to the gas tank.
Need to be clear.
Great help no matter what the outcome!
Highest regards,
OMC

Ed,
Looked at the one of the spare seats and found that the previous owner had replaced the screw with a stud and it was epoxyed in place. The epoxy I'd figure because the seat was stripped out.
A thought occurred to me. If the seat was subject to this kind of wear / damage, then putting a stud in place of the bolt might not be a bad idea and instead of the shoulder that the one on the bolt provided for compresson of the rubber blocks along the underside of the seat, a narrow sleeve might accomplish the same result with the use of a washer and nyloc style nut.
The idea, save the seat from damage when the required services or cleaning would take place.
No epoxy of course...
Regards,
Rob
