Hi there all bought an ETZ250 last year been stood for 17 years only done just over 4000 miles.Put new clutch plates in, old ones stuck and then someone previous put misalined them and bent the plates, cleaned out the solid residue in the carb, unblocked the gearbox filer/breather and binned the original kneumant tyres.M.O.T. passed after a rear brake light adjustment and now put 600 miles on it but I am not holding my breath yet as I know 2 strokes dont lend favorable to long lay ups so we will see.So far love the bike and I am very impressed with this little East German 250.Anyone got a Scorpion Tour/Traveller for sale out there? Heres some pics of the ETZ.

Hi,your bike looks real nice. <clean>
i noticed the front caliper says MZ on it.Did they make their own brake parts back then? Was the front fender painted black ? Or was it chrome at one time like lots from that time frame.Welcome to the forum...

Hello!

Yes, iceman, front brake caliper, master cylinder and disc are MZ...well, are a Brembo copy, you can see in Benelli, for example Benelli Sei.
Front brake too much powerfull, a lot of MZ ETZ models riders fell because they (and I) block the front wheel. Solution for me mount a 3.00x18 oversize tire (2.75x18 original size).

Mud guard MZ chrome are very common but also painted in black and other colours. Great quality chrome. I gave to my friend one and he mounted in a Ossa Copa.

Saludos, Manuel
