Hello Chris, i dont believe this bike has a restrictor, my kids Roadster is pretty quick off the mark and can keep its own with the best of the japs, the bike is more of an Enduro with regards it will keep "popping along" forever as long as you treat it well, if you get the chance, compare the weight of you're Saxon to an ETZ 125, you will see the difference, the Sax is as light as a feather, Vin

Hello!

65 mph = 104 kilometer/h.

In Spain I never watch Roadstar, only Saxon Sporstar, same engine and also aprox. 104 km/h, carburator Bing 53.

But in a german book "Typen Kompass MZ" I "read" both model 15 PS and 115 km/h.(I think too much, ETZ 150 aprox. 14 PS) :?: and alternative 10 PS and 100 Km/h

Perhaps only for german market 15 PS models :?: Book have a mistake :?: ...

Best Regards, Manuel.

just ordered an after market exhaust so that shud give me abit more goin to change the sprokets aswel, an it is quick off the mark, but it only seems to rev to about 75000rpm, so thought it mite b re-stricted, getting the 150cc kit soon and a bigger carb, will let u know how it goes on thanks guys

Hello!

Power valve :!: Wow, fit it is a challenge for mechanics with good hands and suitable machinery.

The MZ spirit is: Always run, but no fast.

If you like sport little two stroke old motorcycles: Honda MBX, Honda NSR 80 (a lot of racing kits), Cagiva Freccia, Cagiva Mito, Gilera SP01 or SP02...

Saludos, Manuel.

WOW, that must mean you get about 20,000 mph!!!

Obviously I know you mean 7500, I'm just a sarcy bastid...

If I'm honest, I don't think it would be such a good idea to try tuning your bike. the engine is designed as a plodder that will carry on forever, just at a leisurely pace - modifying is more likely to result in big bangs, split alloy castings and anal prolapse... If you must change things like the exhaust then bear in mind you will also need to re-jet the carb higher (if you improve airflow through the engine, the standard jets will not supply enough fuel) but if I were you I'd leave it "as-is".

As for fitting a powervalve, I think maybe you'd be better buying a bike that's meant to have one fitted for the same reasons as above (that and fitting one to this bike would probably cost as much as buying say, a second hand full power Mito or RS with some decent tuning already sorted)

That said, best of luck with any work you do go ahead with - would be quite fun surprising the sportsbike kids at the lights I suppose!

Fairly easy to sort the jetting if you know what you're doing, best way is to buy a selection of jets and experiment with them at different needle heights until you get good smooth running & the plug is a nice grey/brown (not sooty black[rich,no economy] or baked white hot[lean, overheating & siezures galore])

If you ask when you buy an exhaust or filter, they should be able to at least give you a rough idea what size jets to go with.#
