Apparel

Postby BlueRidgePanther » Fri Apr 18, 2008 7:18 pm

I was wondering if anyone knew of any MZ apparel that might be out there. I'd love to wear an MZ shirt or MZ jersey. I have a black MZ hat, but it's kinda faded and old now. Also, does anyone know if any MZ patches were ever made? I'd like to sew one into my leathers or onto a generic jersey. If any dealers have any old apparel lying around, I'd love to take it off your hands!

BRP, try Ebay in United Kingdom and Germany. You'll see clothing popping up there, and the vendors will ship to the States if you pay for it. I bought some nice patches from a German vendor and am sewing them on a rugby shirt. I found them on German Ebay by searching with German terms (hemd, stift, abzeichen, flecken, logo, patch, shirt, aufnaher) and MZ and/or MUZ.

Alright then. All I've been able to find on the american ebay site is this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/I-Love-MZ-custom-I- ... 18Q2el1247
It's interesting, but decidedly generic.

Then there's this patch I pulled from the British ebay site:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MZ-IFA-patch_W0QQ ... dZViewItem
Course, it's in Poland and the seller doesn't seem too keen on shipping outside of Europe. Shame.

http://www.bikerartikel.de/ has a LOT of cool patches and pins. Still no shirts though.

Let us know if you find something; meanwhile, have you tried Allsport Cycles here in Roanoke? They're my sponsors and were very active MZ dealers until the distributor let them down once too often, but still order parts from germany for customers. They still have some stuff laying about...I have a very nice polo style shirt with embroidered MZ logo that I got from them (not for sale tho'). Other former dealers may have some NOS also, Rockwell Cycles, Bikeworx in the N.E. spring to mind.

Of course you could always have patches custom made, but would be very expensive. Order a large number and sell them to the rest of us. :D

Somehow I forgot about that. I talk to Scott there every few weeks to order something or another, and somehow I've forgotten to ask about clothing. Great folks.

I've been seriously considering that! Or keeping the lot of em and sewing patches to everything I own.

I just checked Ebay Germany and there's plenty of patches and pins, and one or two shirts. See the "store" section, under the auctions. The vendor I bought my patches from is still there, and he ships to the US.

At one time the correct gear for an MZ was ZED CRED (sounds better than zee cred, but we pronounce Z zed in the old country)

Typical ZED CRED gear would be a pudding basin hemet, goggles and a dispatch riders coat. For the feet wellington boots and leggings whatever was around.

Variations are permitted, in fact anything that is not current mainstream clothing 8)

I'm sure you'll find them eventually, but if we ain't got 'em we ain't got 'em - asking 50 times won't change that.

blue ridge
If you download the MZ logo from the MZ company website then you can size it as you want and take it to a tee shirt printing company. I have three shirts with the MZ logo on the front and E=MZ 3 on the back.

I was thinking about having some t-shirts and other apparel made for me by a shop that did some very nice work for us Guzzi guys recently. I was thinking this MZ logo: Image on short and long-sleeved t-shirts, maybe a hooded sweatshirt and hat. Of course, "one-off" anything costs quite a bit more than larger quantities, so I thought I'd ask if anyone here is interested in some as well.

I could go for a long sleeve T. Can you make the MZ discreet, like the insignia on the old Star Trek uniforms?

Anyone have a hi-rez jpeg of the logo? You can do these for any number of shirts on CafePress.com. T's are about $15. The logo here on site would be good for a pocket logo
