Hello one and all. Today I have become the owner of an RT 125. My brother has had one for a couple of years now and has had high praise for it. I was able to ride his and it brought back a certain delight I had years ago on my Honda Sport 65 and Yamaha Twin Jet 100. The MZ is light years ahead of those bikes although I think the Yamaha would have outrun it. The gentleman that sold it to me also sent me links to this site and mentioned that a fellow named Dave was the Guru on the 125s. I guess we all are riding "collectors' items" now that the factory is closing. Being a Moto Guzzi owner, I've been through the times when your bikes' factory goes through several hands but the Italians wouldn't let Guzzi die luckilly. It was rumored at one time that Bombardier was interested in Moto Guzzi before Piaggio finally ended up with it. Wouldn't it be great if they were to buy MZ? Just a thought.

They, Bombardier have such deep pockets the tend to create there own things like they just did with the 3 wheeled spider.
Not to knock MZ as i love my o3 Baghira I guess i wonder what it is they would end up with?

I've seen their 3 wheelers in the shops. I don't see them on the road. Is anybody buying them? They're not cheap. Polaris has Victory, Bombardier needs MZ. Kawasaki didn't start out making bikes from scratch, they bought a motorcycle co. and changed the name.

Grupo Piaggio have money to build his own engines. It was sure that they studied MZ's purchase, perhaps they think is a bad bussines.

Piaggio MP3 model have three wheel, they are intelligent! it is destined for "fearful bikers" market.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries: motorcycles bussines is only aprox. 10% all Kawasaki sales.

They started coming to dealerships last fall and i have seen 5or 6 on the road.They sell for around $14,000 US and i see them on ebay for $18/20,000
as people put in orders to flip them and make money.

Notice the CAN/AM name Bombardier made motorcycles with that name for many years and decided to keep the same name for the 3 wheel spider,which also uses the same motor that is in the 2 Aprilia's i own. It is the 60 degree v/twin as they also own the Rotax motor co.


Ah, the Can-Am TNT 175. This was the fastest bike in town, hands down, bar none. When it ran. Had a faulty black box CDI ignition which I swapped out three times. And it was a bear to start when it was cold. But when it ran I was leaving Kawasaki 350 street bikes in the dust. Way, way, way in the dust. This had a speedo that only went to 85, and it had a peg at that spot. I once broke the needle off on that peg. If you look closely at this picture, you may wonder where the kick starter was. It was on the left side. Weird. Kind of a lot of bike for a 15 year old. It was built by Bombardier (pronounced "Bomb-BAR-dee-ay), which now makes commuter jets.

I just found another site in French with cool old bikes like this one.
