Most of you who frequent this site will, no doubt, have already heard most of the tales from the following link but still, I thought it might provide a bit of entertainment to pass the time whilst it rains (again).

I'm not sure if it'll go straight to the right page but I'm sure the majority of you know what letter MZ begins with, and if not, there's a clue somewhere within this paragraph...

You MUST be joking, it's better than mine at times!!!!

P.S. I'd recommend Phil Speakman's 3 part effort, detailing his trip from England to an MZ club meeting in Finland on a '76 Supa-5. Believe me, it sounds like the sort of once-in-a-lifetime trip that you'd only actually want to do once!

P.P.S I'd now recommend it even more, since it has just yielded a solution to my clutch removal dilemma in the form of an internal 24mm x 1.5mm threaded nut, enabling a 3 leg puller to be used without distorting the basket!

Be careful, Dan. You don´t use too much force with the 3 leg puller .

Hi, thanks for those links - that's not a bad price for the proper tool actually. The technique that Phil used was to screw the nut onto the same thread as the proper tool uses & apply the puller to the nut so hopefully the effect would be the same. (certainly better than using a puller directly on the clutch basket, which would almost 100% ruin the clutch).

Fawlty Towers has got to be one of my favourite programs when I was a kid, not seen it for years though & those clips just made me nearly spray coffee all over the keyboard! Classic.
