Booked first trackday on Skorpion Sport

Postby Doc Strange » Sun Aug 03, 2008 2:55 am

Hi

Got a trackday lined up for when I get back to the UK - 1 week after I'll be riding my Sport for the first time.

Anyone experience and tips to share on track riding on one?

Know they are often modified for the supermono series.

I'll let you know how I get on in early Sept.

Cheers

Well, that was a great laugh.

I picked up my Skorpion from a mate last Friday evening and spent Sat running around to get some new tyres for it as the old rear was too squared off. Ended up with Bridgestone 090s

Managed to get a few miles in running them in ahead of a trackday at Brands.

I'm pleased to report me MZ did me proud. As fast as anything in the bends, but obviously creamed on the straights. It wasn't all me being passed though as managed to reel in a couple of other bikes that were up on power.

The exhaust touched down before the her blobs I found, but that was only an issue in Druids.

Will be tinkering before doing a few more next year.

Defo recommend it as great fun.

I rode my mastiff on a go cart track and it was a blast. I kept hitting the rev limiter at just the wrong time. I even rode it on the dirt section and jumped it. It worked great. Sounds like you had a good time.

Do it Sue!

And yep, there was an MZ supermoto there in one of the earlier sessions. Know what you mean about hitting the rev limiter lol!

Perhaps a mass MZ presence at a trackday next year should be arranged. Anyone else up for it?

Oh oh oh... stick me down for it! Would love to do one on the Baggi, would be even better if there were more!! :-D :-D :-D
I thought of sticking some ktm stickers on it so I could gate crash their track day... think they would have sussed me though :(
Really want to test this bike out in a safer environment than on public roads  Just let me know when and where.

Did a track day on the Buell once...

I'll play on the 11-year-old Taveller if we get this off the ground!
