SWEET SUPERMOTO

Postby 125supermoto » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:54 pm

Just got back from a 400 mile round trip to pick up the bike that was for sale in Palm Bay, Florida.
Very good condition overall.
The previous owner had the exhaust cut open and redone without, I guess, the spark arrestor, he also said that they had adjusted the carb and put a bigger main jet.
The bike seems to be running rich, It will not idle very low but once past second gear has no problem picking up speed.
I went ahead and did a routine carb maintenance and to find out what was inside, this is what I found:
Main Jet= 105
needle position=#1 top (lean)
air screw out= 2 full turns
Clean the carb and put back and still feels runing rich. Any suggestions out there?
I do not have a 100 main jet that is suposed to be stock.
I also checked the air filter element and it is clean. The odometer reads around 1500 miles.
Thank you. Gus

I'm glad someone got that scoot. I've got three and Mom won't let me get another til I sell one. I've got a lovely Kawi W 650, my 125RT and a '03 Moto-Guzzi EV Cali. If one of those goes it will probably be the Guzzi.

bufallobiff thank you for the response, I am really happy with the little bike. I have been wanting to get my hands on a small bike for a long time, this one has everything I wanted: Built for life, four stroke, water cooled, light weight, manual clutch, six speed, aluminum spoke rims, steel braided brake lines, top notch components, street legal, awesome price and many more things.

find a stock pipe and main jet
every thing i have tried with my 125 just made it run worse
these bikes are tuned to the max stock so your wasting money trying to go fast
unless you want to drop a ton of cash into them
