Yesterday my son got rear ended on his rt 125 by his girlfriend in her car!! grrrrrr! i know! i know i thought exactly same! anyways to cut a long story short this is what parts we need- main silencer , front exhaust downpipe, front mudguard (mz blue), and the black headlamp housing/bowl. priced these up here with grahams motorcycles here in the UK and total price with nuts bolts etc is close on £400 thats a lot to spend on a 2003 bike so does anyone know of someone breaking a mz rt 125 online....breakers.....private etc for the parts required please helppppppppp!!

RULE 1 biker always follows any one traveling with them to any where

Hi,
I think your only option is to buy new or go the custom option (see my reply to your post about a silencer).
As these bikes are very rare it would take a long time before used parts are available.
If this happened to me I would choose between the following options

1/ Scrap the bike and buy another bike, especially in view of the close down of MZ.
2/ Buy another RT125 off Ebay or from a member of the owners club, and use the first as a donor bike (if you've got the room).
3/ Get any non generic parts made for the bike eg exhaust, downpipe, mudguard.
4/ Try to find parts that are common to other bikes and use those.
5/ Buy the parts needed and put it down to experience.

If MZ closes in December, Im sure parts will be available for a few years. Only problem is the price of parts will probably rise.
I may well have to face the same problem if my bike is damaged.

David.

It just so happens that I managed to lay my hands on a junker 125RT, I was told its a 2002.Don't see any reason not to agree, the casing were all stamped insode with late 2001 dates.

It has the complete exhaust, complete forks, front wheel with original roadworthy tyre, front mudguard, and a few odds and sods.

I also happen to have an sm 125 engine that is proper poorly, keeps dumping the gearbox oil into the radiator, runs okay, it has been stripped and check by graham at Graham's of Taunton, to no avail, ended up swapping an RT125 engine into an sm125 frame.
I have also got a straight RT frame, rear shock absorber, air box, rear mudguard (plastic part), swinging arm etc.

So i have more or less a complete engine that is being broken for spares. Will strip to clutch, but can't get the clutch basket off without damaging the rest, so won't go further, in truth don't want to buy the special tool to do the job.
