Rear Axle size?

Postby Stretchy » Wed Nov 19, 2008 7:29 am

Hi there, does anyone know the size of the rear axle, not length, just the width and thread pitch.

I ask as I've just used it to remove the flywheel from a Honda XL200R (83?) and can't seem to find any info on a suitable puller.

Stretchy.

p.s. I've also noticed that my back wheel is a bit loose on the axle (wobbly) is this the bearing?

if some one got axle nut to tight maybe
wheel off bike insert axle and see where the play is

the wheel bearings in my rt125 ..i was not happy with them dry with lots of noise
when hand rotated--- i replaced them at first oem tire change 13,000 miles
in the same light i have a 1963 BMW R50S with oem wheel bearings with over 200.000 miles

Ok David, yes I'll pull it all apart this weekend and have a look. I could well have had the rear too tight. I have however recently purchased a torque wrench so will be more careful next time!
I need to know which how many bearings to replace and will contact my local MZ chap.

I've decided to keep my SX purely for commuting and have been putting together an Honda XL200R for Off-Road stuff.
