Intro to Mz and motard

hello everyone

I'm new to my OWN motard, and to the Mz

Proud owner of a 2003 Mz Baghira Black Panther

I’m a mechanical engineer in the foothills of North Carolina (USA)
I've been riding for 26 years, first in dirt, then standards, then got my first sportbike in 2000...and hit the track in 2002. I've got a buddy who acquired a 2000 KTM Duke II back in 2003 and I've had the fever ever since for a motard....and yesterday finally got my own.


I brought it home to my 2004 R1 and now fear the R1 may start collecting dust.



I immediately took it for a 40 mile haul on the hiway to meet my buddy who upgraded from the Duke to a KTM 950SMR. It was a COLD ride as it was only 39 here in my area yesterday, and 80 mph was rather chilly…but it couldn’t wipe the smile off!



We rode several miles through some very tight corners and had a blast



Then it was time to ride home…but the temp dropped quite a bit as it was already dusk. So I took the back roads home




Then backed her back into her temporary home…..




As I need to get either a rear swingarm stand, or a dirtbike type center stand so she doesn’t cramp the garage/man cave too tightly

Welcome to the MZ world! Good to see another MZrider down south. That would'nt happen to be the one I recently saw on Craigslist for sale in that area would it? (I was contemplating calling on that one) Anyway, Sweet Ride! And if it's as clean as the pics show, you certainly "Bag'd" a good 'un. I'm down near Spartanburg with a black 1000S.....ride up all around that area (we abuse the desolate areas between Asheville and Morganton and further up) quite often with mostly Eurotrash buddies, many times I've thought one of those motards would be the ultimate tool on some of those roads. Enjoy, maybe we'll cross paths some time.....I've yet to see another 1000S so if you do see one around up there it would most likely be me!

I agre with you, Iceman, nice R1 exhaust. The first underseat exhaust system I saw it was on a Ducati 916 (also mono swingarm) Superbike. Revolutionary and amazing.
