Saxon Sportstar ETZ 125

Postby 94mzmart » Tue Aug 04, 2009 12:02 pm

Hi all.

Just after a little advice.

I have a MZ Saxon Sportstar, ETZ125 Engine, electronic ignition - PVL type.

I have come across problems, again, with the ignition system and was wondering if anybody has any experience with the Powerdynamo ignition system? http://www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/systems/7144/300s3main.htm

I hate vehicle electronics.

Thanks for your time.

Hello Mart,

First -excuse me redundancy- check electric conexións, clean fuse box -change fuses if necesary- and battery.

I bought same VAPE electronic ignition time ago for rapid change when my original ESE 8389.30 malfunction.
The VAPE electronic ignition continues in my spare box.
Aprox. 500.000 kms and the original Hall sensor and black box works very good.
You must think that I am a lucky man but never win the Lotto :( :) .

I never listened or read VAPE electronic ignition problems -if parts are mount correct- -no "gremlins"- in MZ.
The best -and expensive- is a VAPE complet generator/electronic ignition. The complet system in MZs run ok but
my friend Iñaki tell me bought a complet VAPE model for his Bultaco -basically VAPE is the same model for a lot of motorcycles- and don´t run well because is much more light than the original.

Best Regards,
Manuel

Manuel,

Firstly, Good luck with the Lotto!

I'm still looking at everything, hope we can get it sorted before too long!

I'm starting to wonder if the bike just isn't good for the long rides, I have been making a 100 mile/160km ride quite regular, and I wonder if I should get a different bike now. :|
