New MZ Rider

Postby gogreen09 » Tue May 04, 2010 3:53 am

Hey everyone! Up until last night, I've never heard of MZ. All I know are the Japanese bikes. I put my downpayment for a 1995 Scorpion Cup Replica (not sure if that's the correct name...every page i've visited has something different) today and I hope to pick it up in a week! I came really close to buying a Ninja 250, track ready. I'm glad that sale didn't happen!!!

I just wish I can find the repair manuals for these bikes. I'd like to work on it instead of going out to a Yamaha dealer. Any ideas where I can get my hand on one of these?

You can download most of the manuals you'll need at my website: http://www.mzskorpion.net/page10.htm
Hope you enjoy your Skorpion, whatever model you've got. The 'Cup' is a fully faired verison of the Sport, but the 'Replica' has USD forks and higher spec wheels, brakes, etc. If you've got a Replica you're a very lucky person, they were very expensive and only about 200 were made! :D
Where abouts are you?

Did you buy the Ebay 95 Replica in Alameda? It looked pretty decent. :-D

Thanks Norman! I'll definitely scour your pages for all the info I can get! What's throwing me off is the model name. Check this page out...maybe you can decipher and help me find the exact model. Thanks!

Hey Don! How'd you know?! I went to see it in person and it looked better than the pics. For a 1995 bike, it's in good condition! I didn't get to thoroughly test ride it since he only had half a block to ride in. I'll post pics when everything gets settled!

There's not many Replicas around so it was pretty easy. I thought about it myself but unfortunately it's on the other side of the country from me. Be sure to let us know when you get everything sorted out. -Don

What happened to the tank ?? Overall it looks real nice. :D http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... tem=#v4-34

With zero bids you must have bought it after the auction ended.Amazing how many things sell that way.I got my 1000 SF that way.

Yes, I was curious about that too John. Looks more than just paint crazing, but pics can be deceiving. Looking forward to feedback from the lucky new owner.

paint on my traveller tank was messed up
vent got plugged up and it swelled up in the hot
fort worth texas sun
it was repainted black instead of dark green but not with a gas proof paint
so it looks bad after i had to touch it up in the middle of last years riding season
from a fuel spill
dave
krylon makes a paint that will stick to plastic
but limited colors and may not be fuel proof
