Err Hello

Postby oldboyonrgv » Mon Jan 10, 2005 4:45 am

Hi Chaps
Some of you may remember me from the old 660 Baghira days ?, I was the guy who bought a 660 Baghira enduro and did loads of stuff to it to produce a street moto just as MZ started producing them,
I seem to remember talking a lot to Keith Cross when he got his Baggy as well (my user name was Supermoto), I am also mate of Boysie.

Anyway I always regretted getting rid of the Baggy (sold it to a bloke in Salisbury, if yer on here mate drop me a line) and planned to get another supermot/baggy in the future although I had done nothing constructive in actually getting one cause of a few reasons (like having to get rid of the RGV and CRM), anyway to cut to the chase, over Xmas I was happily working away in the garage fettling my sons ktm65sx when I hear a knock on the garage door, I poke my nose outside to see one of my neighbours standing there with a piece of paper in his hand " would you like a set of wheels" he says, I ask what they were off and what sizes and he tells me they are from a MuZ Scorpion Sport, I ask him how much and why he's selling them, turns out he's just about to take the rest bike to the tip !!! and thought I might want the wheels , I tell him I will take the whole bike 2 hrs later and I have a whole MuZ scorp sittin in my garage for nothing ;-) , However he had started to cut bits off as he broke it down to get it inot his car so I have a bit of work to do to get it back together but boy am I happy.

So brace yourselves guys cause I will probably be asking a load of questions as I start getting this puppy back together

Welcome.. I live in waterlooville about 5 mins from Boysies House. All three of us( Keith Cross) have Baggies and pitch up regularly at solent Supermotos rideouts ( check out thelink in my sig..)

If you were interested Portsmouth Yamaha had ( a couple of weeks ago ) a very smart baggy SM in Silver ( same as mine) completely unmodified ( not like mine). cant remember the price though....

If you need help , or info let me know. Keith has given me CD rom with a Baggy workshop manual and a lot of other info that may relate to the scorpion sport as well ..... :D

There's another baggy around as well, my mate (and Bosies) Elwyn has a grey one, I dont know how Solent Supermoto would feel if I turned up on a 'race replica' though (even if it was a thumper) although I may be tempted to bring out the CRM for a bit of supermoto baiting

My initial plan is to get the Scorp running, then strip and re-build it properly using all the mods I used on my old baggy (and perhaps a few more I have in mind) but its all a bit dependant on how much work/time/money I have to spend on my sons Motocross racing.

but hey if you Boysie Keith ect want to pop round and have a look (and laugh !!) feel free (Boysie knows where I live)

I may just pop round one day with Gedge etc. Just make sure you have plenty of coffee for me and some pies for Gedge :P

As for joining in, why not bring the CRM. You could have some real fun on one of the ride outs.

:-D :-D are you threatening a visit !!! we'd love to have you ;-)
one of the things I miss about British Columbia is the old school ways of treating each other.... nowadays especially in the States its easy to notice how selfish some people are... alittle disheartening ........ now that was a general statement and of coarse many exceptions.....
If you come visit, Phlat and I will keep you busy

I will be making my bi-annual visit to the states sometime later this year. Miles away from you however, Fort Worth Texas. I have a friend there and we alternate visits. He has recently moved there from Cincinatti and I am looking forward to seeing him and his girlfriend in their new home.
I dont know if there are nay members of this forum nearby, but if there are then I am sure I can make a little time to meet up. Time will be tight though as I am only going to be stateside fo 1 week.

If the dates are right to true I would. Should be able to get hold of a bike OK as my friend is the service manager of a Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki dealership
I will let you know when I am comming over when teh dates are fixed. As for the demon KX, tis a mere lightweight compared to the GL1100 enduro bike :D
