SEARCH PIC OF SLIPSTREAM RACE BAGHIRA

Postby CM » Fri Jan 14, 2011 6:39 pm

Hey guys,

like the subject says, I search some pictures of the race Baghira from Slipstream. You know, the bike with aluminium gastank and KTM EXC / SX fairing....

I hope that you can help me!

With regards

You're just left with yourself all the time, whatever you do anyway. You've got to get down to your own God in your own temple. It's all down to you, mate.

@OLDMTNCARVER: That´s the bike, great!!! Thanks a lot.

If you have more pictures, post them please :D

I´ve allready tried to find some of wonkys posts....but I think I should continue the search!

The red bike is the second version of the EGLI Baghira (80 - 84HP, weight 136kg). The first one looks like manufactured in the 1970´s but the second one has all fairings from a Kawasaki KX MX bike, modelyear 1999 - 2002. Looks great! In my opinion, this KX year is one of the beautifullest of all!

I would agree about the red MZ at the starting line. You explain that the shrouds are KX mx parts from the 1999 - 2002 year models. What did they use for the tank and other parts? Please go into more detail.
I agree about the looks, it looks battle ready to me.

I´m still searching for pictures of parts like the gastank or something but it seems like they made a new one. The subframe is new, for sure!

It´s a quite interesting bike, for example they don´t use the alternator and the left engine cover, one bike of them uses a XT 600 engine body with the liquid cooled XTZ cylinder and head, kickstarter and a waterpump adapted at the cylinderhead - next to the camshaft. They used Öhlins suspension and for a certain time a carbon brake disc in the front!!! I have one or two bike tests with these monsters on the computer but they´re in german....

Here is a picture of the "first" bike. I hope you don´t go blind.... The second one is the beauty....

Not a great picture but found this one as another point in development and view from a different side.

I remember asking about (purposed humor) the "GONE" logo on the boots (Garne) and it really was not picked up on what I was kidding about. The humor was based off of the blur of the picture at the starting line with the second red bike... Like I'm gone...
Hey, I think that red MZ is "Clean" and was going to do carbon work as you have, your carbon work, very cool!
Where I you, I'd use BST carbon wheels as well to compliment the body work you have done already!

Hey Robert,

yeah, BST Carbon wheels, haha, they cost about 2000 or 3000 euro, that´s a lot of money!!! I´ll prefer Marchesini wheels, they look nicer and are a little bit cheaper - but heavier. But to be honest, normal talon hubs and a nice excell rim should be the best because I´ve heard some voices that the Marchesinis get dents and stuff like that quite quick.

Another thing is that you can use such wheels in a racebike but here in germany it´s quite difficult to get a permission to drive with these wheels on the normal street.

I don´t think that the Egli Racer has some carbon parts on it. Maybe some glasfiberstuff but....no, I don´t think so. I´m going to write them an e-mail for some more infos and maybe pictures.... I let you know if I get more infos.

Greetings

And here´s the next nice Race Baghira from Egli! A member of the german baghira forum bought it a couple of months ago.

Some facts:
- modified right footpeg mount for kickstand
- whole 125 SM/SX bodywork
- 320mm disc with brembo p4 caliper
- modified oiltank for the 125 SM/SX gastank
- 76hp at the clutch
- 143kg!
