TS125 Ignition issue.

My Ts125 has developed a strange electrical fault where whenever main beam/brakelights/indicators are activated the ignition either misses or cuts out. Im not great with electrics and have done the usual stuff, switched to a solid state regulator, gone round looking for shorts and cleaned up allt he contacts and im now at a loss. Any suggestions?

look at the battery voltage with a volt meter when the turn signals are in flash mode
and see how low the voltage drops when they turn on

also check the brushes on the generator if it has brushes and clean the copper area where they pick up power

If there is a big drop in the voltage does that indicate a shagged battery?

most often it does
most 6volt or 12 volt turn signal bulbs of the past were 18to23 watts there should be some drop but not much
if battery sat last winter in a low state of charge and is a few years old it may be bad

Lo and behold when I tested it the battery lost all charge within 30 seconds if i turned on the main beam without the engine running. So, new battery on order. The battery seemed to have boiled previously too but I think thats cause a cheapy cheap charger was used previously.

the little 194 bulb used as a side marker on cars
used in series with a 12volt charger will keep the charge current under control
when charging small battery's
