Greetings from Maryland

Postby compmoto » Wed Aug 10, 2011 2:13 pm

I have just purchased a 2002 Black Panther supermoto, with a bent fork and triple clamp. I saw in another thread where to get some KTM seals, but I will likely need tube/s and tree. I welcome suggestions on finding these parts.I know I can send these to Frank's Engineering for match up...may well end up that route ... Otherwise, the bike looks to be in good condition, with low miles. I love unusual motos ! This will sit next to my '82 490 Maico , until I ride it ,of course !

. Marzocchi Magnum forks are what yours uses if you have the blue knobs on top.. Same as a 97 KTM 360 with the compression adjuster on one side and rebound on the other. Don't know if the triple trees will work. A guy on ebayuk had some for sale recently.. Lord only knows what shipping would be from the UK.

thanx for the info, it turns out that the forks, nor the tree are bent...lucky me! I'll be scootin in no time. What is the diff between a "Black Panther", and the "Street Moto" models ? Mine does have 17" wheels ,front and rear ... Did MZ add anything to make Cali models ? How can I tell in the VIN if mine is a Cali model ? It presently has a Cali salvage certificate, so I will have to let the MD state police check the VIN & engine numbers, then get it inspected for registration... femocrat MD, doesn't make anything EZ or cheap @ MVA !

Have you tried your local AAA office? We offer full MVA services in Frederick 7th St. and will have services at the Buckeystown Pike location soon,so ya may wanna check down there in your

Nothing but the color. Pretty sure they all came with a BMW charcoal canister on the left side of engine, so not sure anything else unique to Cali. Mine came from NY and had one.
