A 'Hello' from a Newbie!

Postby Ballacraine » Wed Feb 02, 2005 3:07 pm

Hi Folks,

Just happened on a link to this site.... Looks pretty smart :-)

I have a '96 Skorpion Tour.....It was in a bit of a state when I acquired it.

I love the way it rides & the big softy of an engine. As I am vertically challenged I put in longer dog bones on the rear suspension to sit the bike a little lower. It helped a lot.

It is my knockabout bike but I would like to refine & improve it.

As you probably guessed, I do have a problem I would like some input on.

One of the problems I had when I got it, was that the front brake caliper was seized on the two inner pots. I freed them off OK, but the damage was already done... The disc has been pushed over.....Dished, if you like...I priced up a replacement from the UK importer...Comes in at over £90 + VAT + P+P

Please does anyone know of discs from other bikes that fit...or any other info (part nos. sources etc) on compatible replacements...Brembo or whatever?

TIA

Welcome (familiar name from another forum perhaps?),

The Yamaha R6 disc is a direct swap on the Baghira, but not too sure on the Skorpion. Not yet anyhow. |And not sure if the Tour differs from the Sport.

I have only just discovered that the Skorpion and the Baghira do not have the same brakes. After7 months of ownership.

Have a look at supermono.co.uk, as sometimes stuff appears on there that maybe of some use.

Thank you.

Could be!

The Tour, Sport & Cup Skorpions use the same front wheel / brake set up.
The Replica is twin disc and uses different discs.

I know the MuZ part number for the front disc, (9013164000).

What I need to know is are there any others which fit?

Thanks very much for the reply & link I will check it out.
