Hello to all,

I have just found this site after wandering around for quite some time trying to translate many German and European sites. No easy task. Anyway, I own a 2004 RT 125 and love it! I just fitted an aftermarket muffler and have ordered a Wiseco 150 kit which I am looking forward to fitting. Also dropped front sprocket to a 15 to gain back some low end I lost with the new pipe.
I look forward to any advice anyone has in regards to the 150 kit and such things as should I fit a larger carb...a 28 maybe? etc./

have a good one 8)

150 Kit

Postby bdalameda » Sun Feb 13, 2005 2:25 am

Have been running the 150 kit for almost a year on one of my two MZ 125s. I have been having some problems recently with the head gasket blowing on the 150 Kit. The cylinder sleeve is quite thin and it is a seperate sleeve fitted to an overbored 125 cylinder unlike the stock 125 cylinder where the sleeve is part of the casing of the cylinder. On my kit the sleeve was fitted about .004 below the gasket surface and I believe that this is why it has been blowing headgaskets. (three times now) I think the sleeve was not completely seated from the manufacturer and after a few heat/cool cycles it gradually seated down causing the gap. MZ is going to send me a new kit when they get more in stock. Until then I have resurfaced the cylinder to match things up again. I am still somewhat worried about future leaks as the sleeve on the overbore kit is not suppported at all inside the cooling jacket and it still looks like gasket failures could result. Only time will tell. The 150 kit really helps the output however. I really hope this fixes it, I would hate to have to go back to the 125 cylinder.

150 kit and Blown Gaskets

Postby Tom T. » Sun Feb 13, 2005 10:22 am

Hi Guys! I live in the little island of Bermuda where we enjoy a healthy population of MZ 125's. Mine is a '03 RT125, and has been upgraded to a 150 twice. I am posting regarding the 150 kits and the head gasket problem: I also had the blown gasket problem, along with about three other local riders. We had rebuild after rebuild until one of the guys sent his block of to the UK where it was found to have a poorly installed liner (it literally wobbled around inside block).

Motoradd has since come out with a better made kit, which has been on my bike for more than a year, and about 3000 miles. Never a problem since! Bike goes like stink, and the only gripe I have is the carb. which I have never liked. I run a Poweroll Supertrap (with all disks) and have had to re-jet and tune the needle valve to get the bike to perfom smoothly. My plan is to change it out for a 28mm flat slide Mikuni in the near future (from Germany), as soon as it arrives.

Will provide a report on this when I get it sorted out, and when I get time, post some pictures. This bike and my '99 Harley Road King are my two most favourite bikes of all time!
