Travller

Postby Namikuz » Mon Apr 09, 2012 9:47 pm

I just bought a 2002 Travler here in the States. I like the concept of the big thumper for a street bike but, I've always had 1100cc bikes. WELL I'm turning 50 this month and It's time to move on to something abit more sane. I don't react as quickly as I did even 5 years ago, SO I really don't need to be going 150+ anymore and I LOVED my 250 thumper sport bike,so I'm betting I'll love the Muz.....

OH........... HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm currently on a 2001 Traveller, had a Tour... Love these Skorpions.
Don't worry, it can still "get your attention"... ...but definitely much more fun to ride.
Welcome aboard.

Hi .... I'm in Salt Lake City Utah. I'm a San Diego transplant. My brother lives in Columbus Indiana and we are going to banzi the Tail of the Dragon between june 23 and 24. I'm REALLY looking forward to the ride on the Tail and then the ride BACK to Salt Lake City. It's been 2 years since I had an adveture on a bike. It's time.

The Travler I JUST bought is in Raleigh North Carolina, owned by LeRoy Backity, has a little under 16k on the odo. I was planning to ship it to Columbus Indiana and then ride with my brother to the Dragons tail and then back to Salt Lake City. Here is the E-bay add.

This is an excellent example of German engineering combined with the "anvil" like reliability of a Yamaha 660 Single. It starts on the second or third thumb depending on ambient temperature. It's the right original color.and with the exception of a couple of very light scratches in the lower fairing is in pristeen condition. I bought it three years ago from a collector who at the time showed me som 20 or 25 collectibles that he owned (and rode) His recent purchase of a vintage Brough Superior caused him to feel the need to raise some cash. Seat, tank, fenders are very near perfect except for a horizontal trim piece beneath the seat was altered due to a broken mounting tab which is not visible unless the seat is removed. Great gas mileage on regular. Tires and chain are excellent. Oil changed every year despite the fact that I only put some 2600 miles on the bike myself. I have been riding it with the lowers removed but will bolt them up unless the buyer prefers otherwise. The muffleruffler is a $400 M-4 which sounds good but hasa always been too loud to suit me. I'm 68 years old after all! Always wore ear plugs I have the original owner's manual and wiring diagram which I will include with the purchase.

That's my bikes twin...almost :D
Previous owner liked the Honda car color "San Marino Red", very close to your MZ's color. He has all his vehicles painted in that color....
Sounds like you've got a good trip ahead. I've been to the Dragon twice, missed last year. Planning this year's trip now.
June will be a nice time of year.
You guys like a bit of Tennessee company? Bet we'd be the only MZs there.

Hey, We'de LOVE some Tennessee company, We are of the mind set... The bigger the pack, the better the trip!!! We are originally from San Diego Ca, but as a child, my family moved ALOT, Dad was in the Navy so we've lived from Conn. to Hawaii. LOVE the tree covered(NOT PINE TREES) rolling mountains and valleys of the Southern parts of the country.
I'm excited about the trip and the MUZ.
Really hope you can join us!
