Spring in my Bing?

Is there supposed to be a slide return spring in the Bing CV carb used on US model 500 Saxon Tours, Countrys and Silver Stars? None in the carb off of my engine. Thanks.

Both my Silver Stars did not have the return spring Charlie. I called Bing and they said it should be there (p/n 60 306). I ordered it, installed it, and the throttle response seemed better.
