Not here. Wouldn't touch any of the social media websites with a barge pole (ESPECIALLY Facebook).
A few years ago I set up an account on FB as an experiment which lasted for all of 3 weeks, and ended up with apps I specifically requested I didn't want and couldn't disable when was "the lucky recipient". Prodded, poked, total strangers informing you they had hit you in the face with a custard-filled water pistol etc. Then there were the status updates on there of the "I had a poo today" variety.

Oh the FUN of it all.... :smt011

Really couldn't give a monkey's to be honest so told FB just exactly where they could poke it (little clue: a place that is not unduly flooded by sunshine).

It's so much like that. You have to manage it. It took me a while to learn how. (And note that i am not there with my real name.) Managing it became a lot easier in last 6 months or so.
When you get friend requests from people you don't know, you can ignore them, or accept them and when you see (usually almost immediately) that they feed out crap, you either remove them or you (more recent feature) unsubscribe from them. When you unsubscribe from them, they stay on your friend list but you pretty much forget they're there because you never see their stuff on your 'newsfeed'.
fb "applications"... NO. I learnt that. Aside from them being mostly childish, there were too many cases of friends saying their "accounts had been hacked" and if their friends got dirty stuff from them, that was how, it wasn't actually them. So, no applications, ever. Just ignore. Simple. Don't do it.
total strangers informing you they had hit you in the face with a custard-filled water pistol etc

"Applications"...first, why did you have total strangers in the first place? Then, as soon as you see some "friend" does that stuff, delete them.
DELETE and BLOCK.
None of that happens to me anymore - although i didn't get that much of it to begin with.

Quick look seems its was set up over a year ago by someone who is now a regular user of the main group and apart from a bit of spam from an producer of bike gear in Pakistan theres been no posts since June 2011. So think we can suume its a dead group!

Facebook is for losers, no way ever. This forum (and some of the others) is all I need to MZ communicate. As therealche said well "I wont friend you, I don't friend people I dont actually know ( as in sit down and have a beer with!)"

I will have a brew or twelve with you though to discuss the wonderful MZ world.

Thats your call Comanche. Facebook is what you make of it. I use it to keep in touch with friends and family I see rarely , and a couple of specialist groups (MZ riders UK and The Real Blues Forum)

Yes, it's what you make of it. Yes, good for keeping in touch with friends and family far away.

I'd love to visit sweet home Alabama but...you know, time and money, not practical.
