An intrest out there for a very very informal MZ/MuZ (all types) meet in the
Metro NY/NJ/PA area some Sunday AM in late September or early October. I'm
thinking of walking around a parking lot with a cup of coffee and looking at
bikes and general BS.

Alternatly I'm going to the AMA race at New Jersey Motorsport Park on Labor Day
weekend if anyone wants to compair MZ's.

So a bit damp but we got 3 MZ rider to meet in one location in New Jersey.
Thanks to Keith on his Country and George on his Skorpion for the spirted tour
of the local roads after a cup of coffee.

I uploaded a few pictures to my Photo Gallery.

I think we'll make it a yearly thing - last Sunday in September 2010 - hoping to
double the number of bikes next year!

Hi Doug,
That's good for the first year.

After I saw your post I would have loved to come to it but a bit far for a day.

You gave me an Idea as there was/is a very large <as large as a defunct motorcycle> can be , dealer Bikeworks in MA that sold lots of bikes.

What do you guys think of like Lake George or Lake placid both in NY about four hours from MA.i know it's an six or more hour ride for you but a lot more bikes will show.Just a thought...
Edit ,I guess what I mean is it would be a great time for a couple of days Friday/Sunday.Maybe something I will try to put together next year in the early summer.

Great idea. I'll go anyware but you might get a better turnout in southern VT/NW Mass. (Bennington/North Adams) as it a half way point from NY/NJ and Eastern MA. There's also a former MZ dealer (now selling Urals) in Chester NY - west of Lake George that might make a good spot.

A day trip to Long Trail Brewery is alaways great!

BTW - the leaves must be in full swing in your area at this point.

Doug, that sound great.I use to date a girl in Southern Vermont near Manchester and the roads are awesome down there. That's a couple of hours for me and a nice ride.I'm in Burlington and the leaves are just starting to show a little color. In a couple of weeks it will look nice. There are some nice state parks in that area also.Maybe we could find 8 to 10 people.I was thinking more on the terms of a little more time two/three days and I've sat outside and had many blackberry wheat pints on the river at the Long trail Brewery.

Leaves in 2007...

Informal MZ/MuZ meet in New Jersey

Postby droy » Thu Jul 19, 2012 8:43 am

Hello NE US Mz riders,

Well it was three years ago I last did this and we had a sucessful meet up (i.e. I was'nt alone!). So this time I'm arranging something for the morning of Augest 12, 2012 (Sunday).

Likely a 8AM start for coffee and tire kicking and a short ride after finishing up by lunch time.

Thinking of Upper Black Eddy, PA or Frenchtown, NJ area so we can get the Metro Philly and NYC folks.

Hoping to double the 2009 numbers with 6 MuZ/MZ! All Muz/MZ makes and models!

if your local mark it on your calander and I'll have an final location after I do some scouting around the area.

Best

make sure you have a good map and compass its easy to get lost in this area
if you use a gps back it up with a good compass

i learned my lesson one year on a road that went 5 different directions from the same intersection
and had poor signage

When: Sunday August 12, 2012 8AM – 9:30AM Coffee and MuZ/MZ Discussions, 9:30AM to ? - Ride out on the local twisty roads.

Where: Frenchtown, NJ at the foot of the bridge over the Delaware River. Parking lot for the D&R Canal Park and the River Café. A bit over an hour drive from Philly and NYC.

NJ MuZ meet-up this Sunday

Postby droy » Wed Aug 08, 2012 6:25 am

Weather looks great folks for Sunday. One small change - meet-up area/foot of the bridge is adjacent to the Bridge Cafe - I had said the River Cafe previously by mistake.

Hope to see some fellow MuZ folks there!
