Front Brake Lever Problem

Postby pinhead1990 » Wed Aug 15, 2012 3:22 am

I was riding home from work and managed to lose something from my front break lever. ( Images Attached)

I'm not sure of what the part name actually is called to order another
Are they usually expensive to replace?

hope someone can shed some light on this thanks

your bike appears to have fallen over and bent the lever
but the lever angle tells me it may have busted the mounting point for the brake lamp switch
or sheared off the mounting/pivot screw

grahams motorcycles in the uk has the parts get ready to dig real deep in your pocket for the parts

Looks like it could be part number 21 "pressure bolt" on the Baghira/mastiff parts diagram.
Although your lever looks bent on the photos I suspect that is down to using a very wide angle lens, causing barrel distortion.

i thought that might of been the name of the part, looks like ill have to give grahams a ring again

yeah that's right i used a gopro to take the pic's, wide angle lense does seem to distort images quite a lot.

Thanks for your help

inspect the lever at point 1
and the m/c body at 2
where the brake switch mounts
and see if there in order
i got 2 of those stroke adjustment screws in my last order and it strikes me they were a bit longer then the original one..

it appears your lever can swing back farther than on mine ??

Don't worry I'm not offended, I've had it a good few years now..
Unfortunately I don't have a garage to keep her dry in. I could really do with putting some time and effort into getting her cleaned up really nice before I pass her on to someone else.
