MZ applies for bankruptcy

Managing Wimmer wants to save jobs with recovery plan

Zschopau (DAPD-lsc). Motorwerke Zschopau GmbH have applied for bankruptcy. As the company announced on Thursday, on Friday a request, and a restoration plan
in Chemnitz District Court was filed. "MZ would have to bridge a financing gap requires a loan, which was agreed in principle already," said CEO Martin Wimmer. However, the company failed to submit some documents on time, which is why the promise was broken.

Wimmer said he was confident they could save a lot of jobs in the traditional two-wheeler manufacturer, should the district court approve the reorganization plan. Currently 49 employees are employed by MZ.

I don't get it. I thought MZ was bankrupt years ago. And "currently 49 employees" - what are they doing? Making parts?

I came across these videos a few weeks ago. The factory is disused, deteriorating - it looks like it's been disused for some years. The person who made the videos worked there 25 years ago. Nice melancholy music for the soundtrack, quite suitable. :(

You're just left with yourself all the time, whatever you do anyway. You've got to get down to your own God in your own temple. It's all down to you, mate.

Amen to that. Everytime I look around, I just don't see anything I like better than the Skorpion.
