my rt125 is a very nice handling bike i think the
sm will work fine

the only problem is set on one and see if it is too tall
in the seat
if you are a short person

Well for me i still think the bike is heavy..I m 5'8 guy weight 80kg. but i m in luvvv with it :D Oh ya regarding the MZ plc near Ampang there is none. Just return from the service ctr today. Its actually in Subang Glenmarie not Shah Alam, the one in Shah Alam is the Plant n they inform me that the its only produce the small bikes in Malaysia n the SM n SX in here are all imported from Germany. The service ctr address n phone no:

MZ MOTORADD
NO 32, JLN KARTUNIS U1/47,
TEMASYA INDUSTRIAL PARK SEKSYEN U1, GLENMARIE,
40150 SHAH ALAM
SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN

PHONE NO : +60355695899 FAX : +60355695251

Oh ya 1 more thing i've just bought the service manual and the spare part catalog for the 125 SM/SX. So anyone need the serial no or some pages on it i can scan it just page me or mail me ok!!!

the SM sold in my country (USA) is made in germany

Dave i think u got the wrong info. There isn't a plant here(malaysia) that makes the sm/sx. They just assemble them here. Unlike the US which gets a CBU bike. Malaysia gets a CKD bike. Because MZ Malaysia wants to avoid being taxed by the govt. if they were to bring in a CBU bike. I got this info from a guy who works for MZ here(Malaysia).

So that being said....i think there is no such thing as a "Malaysian MZ"hahah

(hope you don't find my remarks offending, just want to clearify the facts)

Ride safe!

english words for built, made and Assembeled
are basically interchangeable

the bikes are made in germany and malaysia
from parts from everywhere

almost all bikes are done this way

almost any brand can be built in any country
it only takes about 60 days to set up a line to do it
ar dave

ps at the high exchange rate euro to dollar the 125 bikes
we get here in the usa will probely soon come from
malaysia rather than germany or we may not even be able to
get them

Hi Dave, JB

I think you're both saying the same thing but in different ways. MZ's are not manufactured in Malaysia (which implies producing the components as well) but are assembled there. This avoids the import taxes for completed goods which would be liable if they were shipped there complete.

Cheers, Mike

Well u know what. the price for the MZ here in KL is only around RM 9500+
and for sure its not more than 10K if u pay cash and for RM 4500 u already can put it as a downpayment if u planning to pay thru installment. U just have to pay for insurance n processing only.. I bought mine (used) for RM 6000+ and its barely a year and has only 11000 km on it at Jln Pudu. For the new one is RM 9400+ for SM and RM 9600+ for SX and they only ask RM 4000 for new bike and the processing only takes few minutes. its not the only shop in KL offering that price i went to two other shop 1 Near Lebuh Ampang and one near Jln Tun Razak both also give the same pricing... Msg me n will give u the location address but the after sales service kind a sucks thou (maybe coz my bikes is used one, not sure bout new one)..

i paid 2995 usd for my RT in july 2002

Bro,please don't forget to check which year it was built because dealers should offer discount for older bikes, though it's unregistered.
