Hi everyone my name is allan im 26 years old and i have just bought a mz on monday. i have been told it is a mz ts 125 cc but not sure it has a mz engine but that is all i know it currently does not run as the coil was past it's best and the fuse holder was brokenand fuses missing . i have decided to re wire the bike with original factory plans which i got from ebay along with a new fuse holder and new coil. i have opened a new topic in the mechanical section about where and what size fuse i need. Thanks for having me in your form and any advice is welcome as this is my first project bike.

Welcome marsh15086 ! Feel free to ask if you have any specific questions. Take your time, remember,an engine needs only three things to run: fuel, ignition, and compression - fix the broken one and it will run! Good luck,

Jim

Good to see you! If you can post a picture of the bike and we can confirm what you have got. Its worth getting a good manual for the bike, it repays its price very quickly. The original MZ one is preferable to Haynes, and is available from the MZ Riders club.

Looking at the tank shape, its a ts125sport, a fairly rare model created by Wilf Green (the importer) to bring the bikes looks up to date. Well for the 1980's anyway :)
If you look in the DDR era gallery you will see a red one. The one picture in your gallery labelled mess seems to be an es250, all that wiring is an aftermarket 12v conversion with electronic ignition, from Powerdynamo.

It's a 2-stoke, and I think you need a premix at 33:1.

Ah I saw that on Gumtree! It is one of Wilf Greens specials. They have been a few crawling out of the wood work recently and you have the special tank and seat. here's what it would have originally looked like

1985 MZ,TS125 sports,Wilf Green Special,1 of 6 made,ver..._1345839069807.jpeg

No one is sure how many were built, definitely more than the 6 the bloke selling that particular bike quoted!

The only other special part was the rear mudguard, all the rest is standard MZ TS125 and easy enough to get on eBay etc. It's worth your while joining the Yahoo group

If you are on Facebook there's an MZ Riders group UK who will welcome you, and it's well worth joining the MZ Riders Club http://www.mzridersclub.com

Hello
I believe he mad about 200 red or blue (ive got it in blue had it a few years )aimed at the new(at the time ) 17 year old learner law . I think He also did a pathfinder trail type which is rare , the silencer went through the tool box high mud guard
And knobbly tyres
Also with the sport the aluminium back section has been cut back to accommodate the fibre glass rear mudguard .
I have a sales flyer some where and I will try to get it scanned .
