Registering an East German ETZ in the US

Postby VS461 » Fri Aug 09, 2013 12:37 pm

Hi folks,
It's good to be here at the forum! I'm a Hungarian rider and I have a '91 ETZ 251. I had a 250 when I was 22 and I liked it a lot, so I bought another one a year ago. It has a soul, sometimes has problems but its easy to maintain and repair, and ideal to re-learn riding.
I have a question: is it possible to ride my ETZ in the US? Which means, after transporting it, can I register the bike in the States?
Thanks in advance and thanks for being here!

Well, in the future I'd move as a permanent resident.

john in my above post would be the man to ask about the bike

he brings some rare bikes over from europe sometimes
and he may be able to find shipping for you at a good price
and help with the paperwork
dave
there is a place in miami fl that sells parts for 2 cycle older mz
even whole bikes but in that area the 2 smokers bring high prices
but they fix them up very nice in miami

Thanks David, I'll write to this guy and see what he can help in this subject.
Cheers!
