How much better to build than strip!

Postby Millsy49 » Fri Nov 29, 2013 9:41 am

Well the Supa 5 has been stripped down to the frame. When it's lying around you in (rusty) pieces you do wonder whether it will ever be reassembled!

How much better a feeling once the rebuild starts. The frame is back from powder coating, the swing arm and and engine plates reinstalled, the rear suspension re built and installed and the rear mudguard loosely fitted. It begins to resemble a motor bike again.

I feel so much better now! :)

About 10 years - I think it was like 2005 spring - so 8 1/2 years ago I got back home one night with a GS500 in complete pieces in the back and cabin of my truck. Stripped - in pieces.

My wife instead of being upset said - "you'll save time on this one. Its already apart."

She was right. I got it running in 2010. As opposed to the others ones I have had taken apart ... which I had to take apart ... and they are not back together.

So there you have it. 5 years if it is bought already taken apart. And more than 7-8 years if you have to take it apart as well ...

Cool.

Very smart!

Is that an RE I spy in the corner? I too have a Supa5 and a Bullet 500 - coincidence or what!

You are right. This might be sacrilege but.....

It's a B5 with a Classic tank and Hitchcock's exhaust and seat.

Very Nice!

Interesting bikes. Must admit I have a weakness for the Red on the Supa 5. Very similar performance but delivered in quite different ways.

Nice ... Bullet, built in Madras India, My home town.
No I never warmed up to them too much though.
I have a skorp, have a few savage 650's ... but never owned a bullet.
In India I was a 2 stroke nut. Owned a Kawi KB 100, a detuned KE100.

Cool.
