Need help. I bought this motorcycle the clutch went out

Postby Jonathan007 » Mon Jul 21, 2014 6:19 pm

Hello. I'm new to this forum. Basically it's been a complete run around trying to find parts for this motorcycle
The frame says mz 125 and the vin is snz1sxdb12h502338. It's a 4 stroke. Someone said it might be a
Rotax engine? The guy I bought it off of made a few changes. New forks. Bigger tires. I have pictures of it in my album. It looks sick. I wasn't sure how to put them on here. Idk. All I know is I need a clutch so I can start riding it again :(

Thanks!

Postby Jonathan007 » Sat Aug 23, 2014 7:50 pm

Hey thanks guys for the help!! Sorry i haven't gotten back sooner. I ended up ordering some from Graham's motorcycle. I just installed the new plates! But.. It didn't fix it :( I thought it was that I guess I was wrong.

Update.

Postby Jonathan007 » Sat Aug 23, 2014 8:03 pm

Again I apologize. Between a full time job and full time masters classes. I don't have any time :( Here's my full issue.

My 125 dirt bike runs like a champ, but when I put it into gear and I release my clutch it just sits there. Also I can move the bike around in gear and it moves freely ( without the clutch engaged). I thought it was the clutch but I replaced the clutch plates and it still won't go anywhere. What first happened was I was driving down the road and my bike just came to a complete stop. I waited 10 minutes or so and it took off normally. I drove it home and the same thing happened in the driveway. Now it won't go at all. I thought it happened because an hour before I had changed the oil and put full synthetic into it. Which is why I thought I burn the clutch out. Also would it I have something to do with the chain? I put a new tire on the back and put it back on and I drove around fine for about an hour and then this happened. I'm think on transmission problem now. But I haven't heard any funny noises or anything like that.

after a reread some thing about the clutch basket it messed up
or the adjustments for the lever are not correct
if the cable is coming apart and hanging up
or is the basket not smooth where the lips of the plates rub

check the order and number of the parts in the basket

Postby Jonathan007 » Mon Aug 25, 2014 5:21 pm

Okay I checked both sprockets they seem fine. Well. What's if I take a video of the bike opened up and post it on YouTube and send the link here. What all do you want me to show you? Also the friction plates they sent me didn't look like the ones I took out.. I can video what they both looked like.

Okay I will tonight!

So you think it's more of a clutch issue and not transmission? I assumed that since it moves freely in gear it could be the tranny. But also could be like the clutch is stuck somehow and not letting it go into gear?? Idk. This is my first bike. I'm learning. When I had the cover off I played with the clutch. It seemed to be operating normally when I pulled the handle down.

I'll get you those pics as soon as I can.
