Feels good to be an MZ owner once again!

Postby MZCountryRider » Wed Oct 02, 2013 9:23 pm

Almost exactly six years ago I bought my first, a '95 Saxon Country from a gentleman down in Sylva, NC. Unfortunately, I needed to sell it after little more than a year to pay for home repairs. So, I've been "in between" MZs since. No more! Monday evening I drove out to western MD and bought a very nice '94 Silver Star from another fine gentleman. Needed a little work before it would even start, but now it runs very sweetly. I've only put 7 test miles on it so far, but I think it's going to be a keeper!

This makes three Rotax powered bikes in my "fleet" now ('91 ATK 604, '95 CCM 350 being the other two).

That's a great looking Silver Star, Charlie! You are correct in referring to the seller as a "...fine gentleman."

Joe still has a beautiful red Skorpion Tour, although it's for sale as well.

I just did another 30 miles on the Silver Star. It feels tiny after the big beast (Guzzi Centauro) I rode before it. Reminds me a lot of the Morinis (350K2 and 500 Strada) I had back in the '80s and '90s and the Yamaha RDs I had even farther back. Power is about the same as is the handling and brakes. Where the Silvy shines is out on the highway - it easily runs 70+ without feeling strained, very little vibration at any speed and excellent stability. Sweet bike... :-D

Hi all,
Well---I bought my Silver Star back from Charlie a few weeks ago. He too great care of it over the past 2 years---plus he added hard bags & a flyscreen.
I am enjoying having it back & hope to keep it many years this time around!

buying a bike back is acceptable use of cash....

buying a boat back after selling it on is a NO NO

and the rotax powered bikes are keepers

Joe got lucky getting that one back

Yes, I am once again "in between MZs". :D I'd really like my next one to be a 1000S, but I won't kick any of them out of the garage. For the time being, the Silver Star will be replaced with an '85 Moto Morini 350 K2. Needs a bit of work to make it roadworthy, but I hope to have it ready by October.

This my third Morini - I had an '80 500 Strada in '85, a new leftover '86 350 K2 from '88-'98 and now this one.

Still riding & enjoying the MuZ Silver Star Classic. About 375 miles over the weekend and it ran perfect the whole time. 275 miles on Sunday 6/26/16 starting with blueberry pancakes in Bedford, PA and then ice cream at 4 different places in 4 different states!

my Saxon tour is still laid up from the wreck i had several years ago but all it needs is for me to start fixing
a few little things and it will go again
the problem is my get up and go gets up but fails to GO to work it just sets there and moans

but must get it going as the rt125 needs some serious TENDER CARE

sub school bus driving starts about aug 10 here this year
bus drivers that can are retiring in great numbers as they also run farms and can't get the chores done
because of the early start
