hi Im new going to try and rebuild etz301

Hi folks new here, im going to try and rebuild my dads old 91 etz301 for him as its been sat since the late 90's after killing the voltage stabaliser a few times, and is now just gathering rust and dust, full rickman fairing and a few other nasty's nodoubt

You will love it when it's sorted , reg rectifier really easy to fix throw. It away and fit a modern one . That Rickman fairing will be snapped up if you decide to sell it . Take some pictures as you are working on it cos we are all nosey .
If only one bike was enough..............

I find it interesting when people have problems with various components.

As far as i'm aware, my ETZ250 is still using the original Mechanical voltage regulator.
1973 MZ ES250/2 - 17,000 miles
1979 Suzuki TS185ER - 9,000 miles
1981 Honda CX500B - 91,000 miles
1987 MZ ETZ300 - 38,000 miles
1989 MZ ETZ251 - 50,000 miles

My 1988 Etz 250 has the old style reg/rec but it's in a box now Yamaha trx850 regulator ,rectifier fitted now but any modern one will work ,electricity knows no nationalitys just volts and amps .
If only one bike was enough..............

taking care of your battery does wonders for the life of the voltage/rec/ reg
