Hi Guys! I'm new here. I fall in love with the 125SM(especially in black color) since one of my friend bought it.It haunted me in every dreams I had since that day..

I already test drive it and find out that the SM was very suitable with my riding style and fit for daily commuting around the town and easily eat the divider, hehe. Plus it look cool enough when you are lining out at the traffic light junction with other bikes and definitely will get a full attention from others(85.6% from girls) !!

Currently, Im a proud owner of Suzuki FXR 150 and residing at Shah Alam..I did a lot of long distance trips alone with my bike.I also an avid hiker and climber thus I already be able to identify a few very nice offroad treks(e.g Gunung Nuang Base camp trek at Hulu Langat,Kuala Mu Trek at Kuala Kangsar) to test the MZ to the fullest!(that if i was able to owned it  )

Imagine sleeping in your sleeping bag side by side with your dirt ridden MZ and beautiful waterfall in the middle of the jungle..PHEWWW!!! enough of day dreaming.. :?

Here are my few questions.
1) Where can I get a second hand SM for under RM6000(financial constraint, I still not finishing my study yet) around KL,Klang or Shah Alam?preferly in black color..hehe

2) I heard there is a problem with the original cable clutch,my friend said that it’s ripped off easily Can somebody explain more about this plz..

3) Some of the SMs that I found in the idle throttle position, has an engine’s sound soo loud like it gonna be explode in few seconds. It was too loud for the normal 4 stroke engine IMHO.Is this normal or we can blame it to the owner for improper maintenance schedule?

hi pulutmusang

Here are a few of your questions.

1) Where can I get a second hand SM for under RM6000(financial constraint, I still not finishing my study yet) around KL,Klang or Shah Alam?preferly in black color..hehe

answer: it is hard to get a bike at that price further more u wont be getting a good condition at that price, well if u found one maybe u are lucky enough. anyway if u really intrested i had one SM here for sale about RM7500 include loan secondly the bike comes with warranty.

2) I heard there is a problem with the original cable clutch,my friend said that it’s ripped off easily Can somebody explain more about this plz..

answer: The clucth cable problem due to lack of lubrication maintainance, i have used my MZ about 1 1/2 yrs without having any problem. Maybe iskarin or biolator will explain further more coz i have teach them a simple maintainance which will leads all the parts life span longer.

3) Some of the SMs that I found in the idle throttle position, has an engine’s sound soo loud like it gonna be explode in few seconds. It was too loud for the normal 4 stroke engine IMHO.Is this normal or we can blame it to the owner for improper maintenance schedule?

answer: my bike engine sound dont seems to be loud anyway wrong type of oil would lead to abnormal sound. MZ 4 stroke bike is easy maintainance if u really understand it, by the way Iskarin or biolator may photocopy the MZ maintainance guide for u if u really intrested.

ps: This bike what can i say.... it is actually worth for the price and this bike really makes me happy... every bike had it's unique maintainance, it is depends how powerfull is ur diy skill. well, Welcome to the world of DIY.

Yup.. i know at the first place that this bike was worth for the money,It engine spec was among the best in it class that you can find in Malaysia, has superb handling in cornering(quite afraid during the 1st time, such a tall bike  ),can cross divider with style and provide more and more fun!! i manage to borrow it from my friend for about 1week(hehe) and I fall in luv wit it instantly!!

BTW,thanks steven for all the info!

Bro dimaseta n musangpulut take u'r time to look around. U never know u might get a good deal. If not mistaken in malaysianbikers.com there is 2 SM for sale both black color. N if u have the patient to look around try the KOK Motor Near Jln Pudu.

Around that area there is a row of bike shop i got mine from there, the price are reasonable and they offered loan with minimum DP and no question ask. The only downside of the shop is the after sale services for 2nd hand bike are sucks. So if u happen to find 1 there make sure u chk properly the condition and the parts.

My 2 cents!!
2) Yup experience it before but u could easily replace it with other type of cable. But i don't think the problem really that bad, most people who don't really own or ride this bike tend to exagerate this. I remember mine got it 2nd hand 1st owner use it 1 year then only when i bought it have to chg the cable.

1 year is very long time and its only will cost U RM 15.00 - 18.00 for the original cable. Currently m using a vespa cable. :-D, it was an emergance replacement since the shop didn.t have the MZ clutch cable. Now that cable already last for 7 mth for me.

3) This part u have to blame on the owner. Coz i believe the loud noise should come from the exhaust hehehehe :smt033 , The engine sound when it's idle should sound just nice. Or maybe u could come to the gathering and listen how it's sound. Ask for biolator's bike it's still sound like a virgin heheheheehhehehe :-D

hello musangpulut

i have a mz rt125 with the same motor and it is at 10,000 mile
= to 16,000 km and runs great\
my problem has been the starter freewheel

and here in the usa we some times have to wait a long time for parts
to be shipped

the clutch has worked ok but the cable did seem to get longer and need
adjusted many times
i think you will like the bike

these motors work hard so change oil and filter often
i use yamaha 4cycle oil or shell rotela

Sure bro. Just mail or Pm me if u ready to go for MZ hunting. Anyway most shop will require at least RM 4500 for new bike while only RM 2500-3500 depends on shop for the 2nd hand MZ. As for ur info there is a number of us are using 2nd hand bike including me.

The only problem with mine is the gear whereby it needs me to change the shift shaft and it cost RM170. The rest are history and already pile in 20000km eversince.
