Hello from Germany to all of you in this Board

Postby Flying-MZ » Wed Jan 10, 2018 12:22 pm

Hello,

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Marco and I live in Germany.
Since August 2007 I have been infected by a MZ1000-virus.

I own two MZ1000. My first one is a blue ST and the second a black/white SF.

The german MZ1000-board is like a family. I think that the same will be here.

When I say at various bike-spots that I’m driving a German motorcycle, I’m asked which BMW it is.
If I say then I drive a MZ, a MZ1000, the others look at me surprised and ask MZ ? What is MZ ??
Always funny :-D

Attached are two pictures of my MZ’s

Kind regards from Germany,
Marco

Great looking bikes. No one in the US knows what an MZ is. On my Guzzis or MZ, I always here: "Who makes that?"

Thank you for your warm welcome and the comments. :smt023

In the appendix are three photos of the only German police MZ1000-prototype, which was in action at the Saxony police for some years.

Unfortunately, there was no order for further production at MZ.
The order of the Saxony police remained in Germany and went to BMW.
The two main criteria for rejecting MZ were,
- slow driving behavior of the engine
- no ABS-system

With the right contact/POC at the Saxony police we (... the german MZ1000 forum) were able to convince them not to sell/auctioned the motorcycle as other used vehicles. It’s a unique motorcycle.
We were successful, because today, the public can visit this police MZ1000-prototype in Dresden at the police-museum.

Kind regards and bye for now,
Marco
