Postby Tommyramone55 » Thu Jan 11, 2018 9:06 pm

Hey everyone,

Just bought an 02 125sm for my lady to start riding. Anyone know where I can pick up a manual?

Having a no spark situation. And the shift shaft seems to have a lot play. Any input I would love to hear too.

Thank yall

welcome

wiring drawing in my picture gallery

also do a relay 19 and or relay 30 search

this relay carry's all power in the bike and its common for it to go bad
in a very quiet room with the tank off listen for it to click to tell which it is
its at a different place than on my rt it has red/black and red/white wires and a a green one to the neutral sw
dave

and the wiring harness is getting old and tired on these bikes
wire harness was not a very good kit when it was new

Hey man,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah finding parts seems to be a lot of fun.... (all coming from Germany, wish I could just simply swap in a Honda motor or something lol!)

So yeah, previous owner hacked the wiring up some in removing blinkers and such. But I believe I have found my problem. Bike turns over just no spark, and no power to the coil.

I did check, and jump one of those relays to confirm those were good. Whichever is the common fault one....I think 19?

What I believe my issue is....the CDI or "ignition box" in a manual for the mz 125 sm I found a test for it......ohm out the re/white and brown wires from the cdi if you get anything less then 0.5 ohms it is bad. What is odd, when I first touch them I get a resistance spike of like 4 ohms. But it is for a moment of a second and that is it. After that I have nothing at all.

any advice would be great but CDI might be the next thing....like someplace closer to get parts or a motor swap lol

trying to get this running for my woman. I have my 06 crf450r I made supermoto but wanna ride the little 125 too!

I have a new CDI box in Ohio, if you need to purchase.
