TS250/1 Sluggish return to Idle

Postby Daniel_I » Thu May 03, 2018 9:20 pm

Hi All,

After revving up, it seems to take a little longer to return to Idling revs (~1600rpm) than I would like. Is this normal for this model of M/C ? or is there something not quite correct?

Hi Daniel!

Suggest to check your throttle cable for strands that are broken off, and routing without kinks. If it's clean, then lube it with a thin oil; work some oil into the cable. When you open the throttle & then let go, the carb should say 'cloink' when the slide hits the stop. The grip should also move freely, and can also be lubricated. If all is mechanically OK, it might run a bit lean.

On your clutch issue, I don't know your specific bike, but yes, I have noticed that an ETZ251 clutch that's not been used for a while can stick a bit, and that goes away with use.

Have you adjusted the pilot screw at all for lean/rich conditions?

Hello

The problem might be additional air intake..

Try to spray all critical areas with brake cleaner spray, which is high inflammable.

If the idle goes up or down, then you found the fault...

Hi Dan,
I had forgotten about that one Guesi, good one. What about the filter Dan? If it's not good, with a fist full of throttle, ok, but as you close the throttle struggling for air. Just a thought.
Alan.
