When you have the barrel off, you can properly asses big end, small end, piston & bore, and by rotating the crankshaft & listening/feeling you can get an impression of the main bearings. When lifting the barrel, you'll probably break the base gasket, and you would probably want a new head gasket. You can consider new rings, but after just 1750 mi the original ones should still be new, and there might be other surprises, so maybe better wait with that.
You can probably clean the tap.
The tanks of my '89 MZ, '80 SP & '68 CZ are still are shiny steel on the inside, but my '76 Jawa's tank is rusty on the inside. That one had slept in a humid shed for a few decades. With a fuel filter it's no problem, but some rust continues to accumulate inside the filter.
