Evening all,
I'm making slow and plodding progress with my TS250 restoration (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9001) but I am nowhere near where I would like to be with it. Life gets in the way...
I wonder if someone can give me some advice regarding timing? The engine is the old 4 speed type with the finned head and angled spark plug hold which has complicated matters a little. I have worked out and marked off TDC, but all of the manuals that I have (original MZ and Haynes) give the BTDC timing settings in cm/mm measured through the spark plug hole or using the MZ gauge on the flat head supa 5 engine. Can anyone tell me what the correct timing should be in degrees if I'm measuring it using a 360 compass attached to the crank?
I think that it may be 21° or 22° BTDC but I cannot find anything / anywhere confirming this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as the timing is my big stumbling block at the moment!
Thanks T
