Skorpion Sport clutch pedal wanted

Postby rd400racer » Mon Sep 16, 2019 6:21 am

I've cross posted this because I'm desperate...

I've got a race in 2 weeks and it appears that the existing pedal was bent at some time and is at quite an awkward angle. It will do, but I'd sure like one that is normal. I'm afraid if I try to bend it back it will break and then I'm really screwed. Thanks 96 Skorpion

I guess the clutch lever is bent near the hinge point then.
- do not bend back cold, it will most likely break. If you are going to bend it back, heat it up properly first. If you heat it properly, there is a fair chance you can still safe the bent lever.
- consider buying a complete replacement set, so including the handlebar mount, that you should be able to buy easily. Then any brand would do.

No, it's actually bent up where your toe lifts the pedal...basically the worst place. I don't dare try to bend it because I know it will snap. It's usable, just uncomfortable. I've scoured Ebay for a few weeks now and nothing shows up. If I can't find another I'll work on a replacement type over the off-season. Thanks for the info.

OK, forget what I said, language problem. Seems you're talking about what I would call the gear shift lever, and looking at pics it's a rear-set special item.

Right. Sure looks like alu to me.

This is why many MX bikes have a flexible joint there:

Anyway, I'd just bend it back. First take the thing off the bike, take off the rubber, then heat up w/ a torch & gently bend. Or leave as-is, not really a biggie.

As stated - I'd probably leave it as is as it shouldn't affect the ride - or take the risk of gentle heat and bend. Of course this might damage the finish and does risk you breaking it or weakening it.

Thanks all for the advice. One of the fellow members has a foot lever on its way to me right now. I did take the bike for a quick test ride last night and no, the lever isn't that bad. But considering that I'm going to take this bike, which I've never ridden except down my street, to race on a track that I've never been to before...well, I kind of want everything to be totally comfortable. But it's getting there. The R11 Bridgestones should be an amazing tire.
