TS125 head nuts torque

What should the cylinder head nuts be torqued down to ?

According to the mz manual, 1.8Kg m (13lb ft).
The Haynes manual says 30lb ft but is certainly wrong!

It's 20fp (only four 10mm nuts and washers, but clean their mounting surface with something to remove all deposits) if I remember Of course it is Run it for two periods of twenty minutes (with a 15 minute cool down time between) on quarter throttle (about 2000 Rpm if you have a working counter fitted) Then let it cool down for one hour (unless its drivable) Or 150 miles (approximately 240 Kilometers)then retorque.

To avoid translation issues I had a look in the 'original' TS125 manual on Miraculis:

Now 1,8 kpm = 1.8 kgm = 17.7 Nm = 13.0 ftlbs.


Finally, always torque head nuts cold. These long studs are made of a steel alloy, which has (or may have) a different thermal expansion coefficient as the alu from the barrel & head, which is likely to expand more. The studs are elastic, but the tension in them increases with temperature.

Its like getting a quote for most things, get more than one (viewpoint) quote. Or read a `how to do it` book on them.
