Sorry I am a bit late in posting a reply, but what you are suggesting after 4500 sounds like 4 stroking. I don't know how that can be at those revs but that's what it sounds like.

Maximum power is at about 5,000 on the Jawa.
Perhaps it`s running rich. What do the plugs look like, are the silencers gummed up, clean air filter?

The new avatar is with both my originals ie, Saxon and TS 250/1. The new Saxon is awaiting an MOT
