Anyone found a cure for furred alloy, typically on the lower forks?

Hi,
As aluminum oxidises immediately it is lightly sanded ( when it/s whitened it usually doesn't oxidise further) and then you require an etch primer and then a top coat or two of silver, and I would suggest a car alloy wheel spray can, anti-chip etc.

1960 and 70 BMW engine cases
clean up nice with a brass bristle brush
and 409 cleaner lots of clean water
wipe down with olive oil
but do not do it too often
just to get a nasty barn find looking better
never polish a BMW engine out till its smooth
in areas where its very hot it makes them run too hot
