MZ TS 150 carb mystery

I bought a newer etz carb for my ts 150 which was junk so sent it back. Now I'm trying to put the old carb back but where the throttle cable pokes thru the throttle slider the nipple comes out the bottom and, being about 3-4mm long, the nipple is to bulky to allow the throttle slide to rest properly in the carb body and now the bike won't run at all.
Will try to upload pic but my uploads to this site are very erratic.

Have haynes and mz manuals, neither is any help.


Update....

Oh, **** just realised. I've got the choke slider upside down. Embarrassing.

I think the throttle slide is upside-down in that pic. The recess is normally at the bottom, pointing towards the air filter.

Harder thing to do is compressing the spring, to slot the cable through the little hole and the metal retaining cap. A bit like hard work. Unless you take it off the hand control first.
But sometimes I like a challenge. .
Ps. Ohh how silly of me. I should know by now going by the date. At least it wasn't a 'My friend' s dad told me that you can run a two stroke on diesel alone' )
