Just a quick update. I am off to Hospital on the 26th October for an op on my right leg so will be out of action for a while.

Sorry to hear that Doug-hope all goes well, and hat your recovery is speedier than the New Year (off a bike for 8 weeks-that will be hell).

Hoping to get up to your place in the next couple of weeks-let you know when, as work keeps getting in my way!

Hi Guys,

I am now back from my trip to the hospital. The op went ok but I have been told that I need a replacement knee so I am back in on December 1st to find out what needs doing and when they can do it.

I hope I find you all well and for those of you in the UK not too cold.

Doug

knee

replacement knee this sucks

but at least they make replacements
40 years ago you would have been sold a crappy wheel chair for a big price

they replaced all the school busses in my county with new ones with automatic transmissons
and my left knee is much better
after 40 years of standards it was almost shot from too much shifting
hope it works out for you

I crashed with my my bike three years ago and smashed my right knee. The doctors patched it back together with spikes, screws and bolts. Plus a bit of stainless steel. I'm gona have to replace the knee joint in a period of 2 - 10 years, depending on how fast my knee weres out and for how long I can stand the pain. As my doctor said "Ther isn't any original spare parts out ther, the longer you can wait, the better it is"

Hope you get well and god luck with the op.

Sorry to hear you have to go back Doug. If it's any help, my mum is in back in the UK from Spain having had her second knee replacement. She's 80!

Only problem is that it is cold here, and she cannot fly back for another three weeks.
