no go
super chargers and blowers on big singles need a long intake
so that when the piston starts down there is a smooth flow of air and
fuel... not a the sucking of air so fast the blower can not keep up
and more fuel and not enough air gets to the motor

the british engine designers from the 1930' can explain it
they found it made more power but was a pain to get to work right
and a good 650 single or twin will make more power than
most of us want or need...... mostly NEED
the only time i have found MORE or BIGGER being better
was when it applied to CASH in my pocket book

so i can afford a toy like this when the saxon tour is old and worn

So a big single makes more vacuum on its intake stroke than something like that would be able to produce in pressurised air, and being that the float bowls would be pressurised with that too it would just flood the engine with fuel. Wasnt really thinking about that just about how much power I might be able to produce Oh well I geuss ill just have to save up for the Trintity 686!!


As for the diesel bikes thats pretty interesting. I would imagine the low end torque on those would be amazing. you could probably pull up tree stumps with that thing.

the diesel motorcycle is stated as 30ps @5700 and 32ft lb at 4200rpm
so from riding my tour the diesel will not be the fastest
bike in town but in its usefull life will pass lots of gas stops

and will run faster than any one needs to go on a bike

The fuel mileage on that was stated at 97 mpg thats really good even better then 50cc scooters. And diesel engine reliability cant be beat my cousin has a 99 ford superduty diesel, that he uses for hauling farm equipment and farmwork. It has like 290,000 miles on it never rebuilt and still runs like it is new. That bike would be good for years to come. How did you find out about that though. I would never have thought that anybody made a diesel bike.

the saxon tour i have has the same motor as the US MARINES
HD MT500 made from 1995 to 2002
and i ran across it in looking at military bikes
a version of this bike is being put in service
to replace the HD MT 500 as it is gas and will spend the rest
of its service life where it can be fueled at PX stores on base
at the armed forces does away with gasoline powered stuff
this bike will move to the front lines and the HD MT 500
will do duty at home till its service life is over
a lot of them will see border patrol and forest service use

The British Army will, I understand, soon be taking delivery of Diesel engined bike. This is part of a policy for making the army `single fuel' Even to the point of developing small deisel generators for radio systems.
It would appear that this is being done to avoid having to take more than one type of fuel to a battle field. Makes sense really. Run out of fuel on you bike sir, no worries just take a little out of that tank over there
There is also a bike manuafacturer in India that sells a diesel engined bike.

the us made m1030 is nice but the civil model first production run of 200
is in march and list is $18,999usd with the mil spec motor

i can buy a lot of rt125's and baggies for that money
so dont look for me on one
unless i win the lottery real big

the bike above is the m1030 it is the civil version of the
bike developed for the us marines the us army may also get it

and some nato countries

but the price makes it a rich mans toy

Im supposed to have a bike in my job in the army in fact the recruiting video(for my job) shows people riding one around but they phased them out about 4-5 years ago right befor I got in. thats one opf the main reasons I joined so I could have a job where I ride a bike. OH WELL. I think only special ops gets them now though. Im pretty sure they were the kawasaki KL 650 slightly modified for the military.
